Colleen Biscone ~ Dream Come True!

It has truly been a lifelong dream and passion to become an accomplished horsewoman.   At 25, she finally became a horse owner with the purchase of beautiful palomino mare, French Cowgirl. She had a lot to learn; and Cowgirl was her first, very forgiving, teacher!  With Jerry sharing his wealth of knowledge and talent with her, she has achieved much of her goal.  She is a student of Parelli Natural Horsemanship and brings her studies of this amazing horse/human partnership to her work with their horses.  With a 29 year marriage, and business partnership with Jerry, she continues to work towards her goal and is very grateful for the expertise, knowledge and talent with horses that Jerry has shared with her. Colleen has had the opportunity to ride some amazing horses trained by Jerry (DB Quincy -CHIP; Wins Gato Quixote - KEO, Cowboy, LUCKY, and many more).  With absolute confidence in the preparation and training of their horses, she is very  proud and looking forward to competing again in barrel racing on the horses they have raised by Frenchmans Irish.

Past ~ Present ~ Future

In 1998, Jerry and Colleen purchased their horse ranch, JeriCo Farm, in Berthoud CO where Jerry continued to train horses and give lessons.  Colleen continued to teach Kindergarten until retiring in 2008.  In December of 2004, their longtime friend and mentor in the barrel racing industry, Joyce Loomis-Kernek, suggested purchasing a young stallion she knew of that reminded her of her world champion barrel horse, War Leo Dude.  Frenchmans Irish, standing 15 hands, was stout and blazing fast.  He ran the 52nd fastest time at the BFA Futurity in OKC out of over 375 entries, just missing the short go (top 50).  We were there to witness that speed as LUCKY gave it his all, ears pinned, and determination in his eyes.  Seeing that athletic ability and speed, along with his legendary bloodlines, we knew he would be moving to Colorado to be a part of our family and our future.   Jerry spent Lucky's first weeks at the ranch building on his prior training - adding a great stop, moving off the rider's legs, suppleness and a soft mouth - what he does with all horses to help the equine athlete perform to his best ability. The last 10 years have proven that the decision we made was the right one.  It has been an amazing journey to show and to stand LUCKY, to see the success of many of his progeny, and to be a part of creating the next generation of "All-Around Performance Horses".  We look forward to standing both Frenchmans Irish and his 11 year old son, French Beau Gent in 2017!  In working with Colorado State University Equine Reproduction Lab in Ft. Collins, CO, we know we have a winning combination for our clients!

Together in 2019, we look forward to not only competing ourselves on these 2 great stallions, Frenchmans Irish and French Beau Gent, but to also provide the utmost service to our customers in breeding, training, sales, and instruction.

Jerry Biscone ~ A Career Horseman

With a career spanning more than 4 decades, and starting at age 20, Jerry has worked in almost every aspect of the equine industry.   As head Farrier at Meredith Manor Riding Academy in West Virginia, he had the opportunity to begin to develop his exceptional riding abilities under the guidance of top instructors.  He then worked on the Thoroughbred Race Track for Hall of Fame trainer, Jack VanBerg along with current trainer Billy Mott.  Taking that knowledge and experience with him to Wayne Jordan Quarter Horses, NE, he added colt starting, show training, and breeding (earing his CSU AI certification) to his resume.  If not in the show ring himself, he was the man behind the success of others including Team Roping World Champion horse, Smokey Red Lady (X Smokey Duster Too).   Sher-Don Ranch, NE, offered the next opportunity for Jerry to develop his skills in Western Pleasure and to support David Avery (AQHA Judge) in training their stallion, Spartan Specialty, to his Calf Roping World Championship with JD Yates. Finally, with 4 years at Windward Stud, Purcell, OK, owned by Frank Merrill (former AQHA President), Jerry continued his career as Show Barn Manager, Sale Prep Manager, and Breeding Manager, standing many well-known stallions. He helped prepare World Champion Cutting Horse, Royal Santana, for Frank and Robin Merrill to win their World Championships. Since 1991, Jerry has trained in the Loveland Colorado area giving riding lessons to all ages and abilities of students, training many different horses in various disciplines, and focusing on the barrel racing industry with Congress and AQHA Youth World Championships to his credit.  His greatest joy and sense of success come from being the  'personal trainer' of horse and rider.  He brings the best out of each individual horse, and teaches the rider to ride with "feel".  Whatever the arena or event, Jerry's students and horses are prepared to reach their goals and dreams!
